Vets Helping Vets

As most people know, 66 Nomads is a veteran owned and operated company. Our owner and CEO Tyler Lloyd served 12 years in the armed forces himself. So to see members of the veteran community in distress hits hard for our people. Nearly 11% of members within the homeless community are veterans. And one of the main factors that have caused them to be homeless is PTSD. Something that affects most of the staff members here at 66 Nomads, including their owner. So, 66 Nomads wanted to help make a difference. We linked up with local veteran organizations that specialize in assisting in homeless veterans such as the Veteran Integration Center (VIC). The VIC offers housing to homeless veterans and their families as well as medical care to help them with their substance abuse and PTSD. But, organizations like this are non-profit and rely on donations and volunteers to maintain operation. So us at 66 Nomads have begun donating to their organization items from our estate sales. For some sales, we do not sell everything such as clothes, tools, furniture etc. So instead of throwing these items away, we have begun donating them to the VIC to help clothed veterans as well as stock their thrift stores so they can earn funds for their organization. We have also started fund raising promotions during the month of November in celebration of veteran day. Proceeds will also go to the VIC and other veteran supporting organizations. 66 Nomads remembers what it was like to serve with their brothers and sisters. To be there for each other when it got though and to rely on each other. And for us, that commitment did not end when our service commitment ended. That commitment will continue on as long as we are veterans. #vetshelpingvets #stophomelessvets #PTSD
